Credit/Non-Credit options
Undergraduate students may take classes
for credit through the registrar for .5 units per semester. In addition undergraduate
students, graduate students and employees of the University may sign up for
classes (when space is available) on a non-credit basis through the Campus Recreation
website. All non-credit classes have a required fee, and enrollment into the
class will only be accepted after credit registration has ceased (usually the
first day of the undergraduate semester).

Our goal for your experience
Recreation classes are designed for the entire campus
community at USD. Classes provide students with opportunities to learn new skills and activities, to increase physical strength
and fitness, and to provide a balance in daily life. By introducing and encouraging
these activities, we hope that you will develop a life-long interest in health
and fitness.
How to sign-up
If you are an undergraduate student and would like to take a class for credit,
you must go through the registrar to sign up for a class or use your registration portal.
All non-credit registration,
whether you are an undergraduate student, graduate students, alumni (with pass),
or staff may sign up for non-credit through the Campus Recreation web site. All
non credit classes have a required fee and enrollment into the class will only
be accepted after credit registration has ceased (usually the first day of
the undergraduate semester).
Class Fees
Many of the recreation classes have additional fees. For students enrolling
for credit, these fees are charged to your student account (except for Mission
Bay Aquatic Center courses and SCUBA classes. You must pay MBAC/SCUBA prior to taking a class). For
students enrolling for non credit you must pay the fee when signing up for
the class at the Campus recreation office or online with your registration.
Adding a Recreation Class
Recreation Classes fill quickly.
Students desiring to take a class for non credit must wait until the first
day of classes to sign up for the class. Priority is given to students taking
a class for credit. If a class is full a student (both credit and non credit)
must obtain permission from the instructor to add. Students taking a class
for credit must sign up by the published add deadline.
Dropping a Recreation Class
Students taking a class for
credit must follow registrar procedures for dropping a class. Recreation class
fees are not prorated. Students who drop their class by the add deadline and
never attend a class may have their class fee refunded. The request must be
made the same semester as the student was enrolled in the class. The student
must request this refund through the Campus Recreation Director. There are
no fee refunds for students taking a class for non-credit.
