School of Business Community Assistance Program
The University of San Diego, School of Business Administration Community Assistance Programs (CAP) helps business, non-profit, and government organizations while providing students with unique learning opportunities. Specialized assistance is available to employers for most areas of business. Our experiential learning programs include internships, independent study and class projects.
Our Community Assistance Programs offers benefits to employers, students and the university. Employers obtain quality assistance from USD business students. Students may later become permanent employees. Students acquire valuable experience and knowledge in "real-world" work situations, while gaining important career contacts and references. Through these experiential learning opportunities, the School of Business Administration advances the education of its students while serving the community and society.
The mission of the Thanksgiving House project is to improve the quality of life of deserving Linda Vista citizens by renovating their houses. This mission is accomplished by USD graduate students enrolled in the Project Management course. The house renovation project provides students with the opportunity to learn and apply the tools and techniques of project management while doing a community service. The Project Management course is offered every fall semester and the renovation work is completed the week before Thanksgiving, hence the name The Thanksgiving House.
